Hello Everyone!

I hope this short note to say Hi finds everyone in good spirits! The grind of summer activities and crop reporting can really wear on a person.  I want to say thank you to all that have entrusted me with the Wascoe VP Office and I’ll do my best to represent you and the State of Wisconsin well. Obviously with all the rumors flying about the 2012 Farm Bill eliminating a lot of farm payments, we question what the roll of FSA and it’s employees will be. Right here at our county office level we will once again embrace that ever surfacing word, “CHANGE”.

You, as Wascoe members, I want to hear from you when the issues arise, and where you think we and WI should stand. Remember, no issue or question is to small.  The big ones I’ll pass on to President Mary!    Truthfully, I like the team of Wascoe Officers, Committee Chairs, and Directors that is coming together and the team approach we can represent. We can not thank enough, people like Deb Esselman-Baird that have put countless hours into creating the website and electronic newsletter; but you, the young and new people, CED’s and PT’s alike need to get involved and express your ideas and visions. I look around and have to admit I’m getting to be one of the old guys on the block with old ideas and ways of doing things.  I say things in my office like, “This is the way we used to do it,” and my young and new staff members look at me like, “What planet are you from?!?!?!?!” I see a great balance of employees between the old, wiley, veteran type and the new, ambitious, creative type!  Please, everyone get involved, express your opinions and ideas, and help us work for you as your Wascoe Officers to continue to carry on the great job the officers like Tom and Deb have done before us. Thank you and Speak Up!
